CONSULTANTS IN DEMENTIA THERAPY  - Your Source for Information and Ideas

Consultants In Dementia Therapy, (CDT), was created to provide guidance to all those who work and care for with people with dementia. The goal is to bring knowledge based in practice utilizing evidence-based interventions, modeled on simple step-by-step protocols that have proven successful.

Because the focus of interventions with the dementia population differs from the traditional therapy model, a successful program will focus on the individual as it relates to functional mobility, as well as communication, socialization, behaviors and dysphagia appropriate to the patients stage of dementia. For therapists, writing appropriate therapy goals based on the patients level of ‘spared capabilities’ determined by staging is an important component not only to avoid U.S. Medicare reimbursement pitfalls, but also provide realistic expectations.

The goal of CDT is to provide you with answers and to give you assurance that your decisions are appropriate as you go forward building your dementia program or caring for your loved one at home.
