Responsibilities of contracting facility:
- cost of instructor(s) speaking fees and expenses including travel, accommodations, meals
- scheduling
- payment of all expenses related to event including cost of printing handout materials
- provide podium, screen, projector and speakers for audio
Responsibilities of CDT Instructors:
- high quality preparation and delivery of services with powerpoint presentation
- demonstrate knowledge and experience with the information presented
- achieve results demonstrated by therapists/nurses ability to begin utilizing the information presented the next day
- provide the knowledge necessary to improve patient care
- administer testing to all participants to ensure the desired level of knowledge has been obtained
Participants will be able to (specific to needs of setting):
- Distinguish normal aging vs. dementia
- Identify memory models related to dementia
- Deliver dementia evidence-based intervention
- Screen, evaluate and 'stage' the patients
- Write appropriate goals for dementia functional outcomes
- Learn evidence-based interventions for patient management
- Write Functional Maintenance Plans
- UnderstandMedicare regulations guiding reimbursement
Dysphagia:
An extra 1 to 2 hour time provision can be made for SLP's, OT's and nurses to be provided with specific information regarding dysphagia with dementia.
